Wimborne Orienteers and Wessex Orienteering Club
Caddihoe Chase 2016
1 October, Agglestone and 2 October, Rempstone
What a Caddihoe weekend we have just had. Saturday gave you the opportunity to get very wet and muddy while Sunday ran the risk of a suntan if you were not careful.
A big thank you to all the WIM and WSX members who helped to make the weekend such a success. Particular thanks must go to Eamon Staunton for his immaculate planning of the courses for Day 2 and John Whittingham for his amazing technological work at the chasing start on Day 2 and his efficient presentation of the results over the weekend which resulted in Prize Giving starting promptly at 1.30pm
With just approaching 500 competitors this was one of the biggest events that both clubs have organised for a while. Saturday was the South West Orienteering Association Long Distance Championships and we had two South West Champions:
Harry Bratcher-Howard was 1st in M10 and Tamsin Horsler was 1st in W45
For the Caddihoe both days races are added together to decide the Champions. Again we had two Champions - Harry Bratcher-Howard was 1st in M10 and Tamsin Horsler was 1st in W45. Other top positions went to Grace French 3rd W10, Elizabeth Horsler 3rd W14, Sarah Horsler 3rd W16, Sue Hands 3rd W65.
Well done to them all.
